Black Belt Test Thinking: Free Flu Prevention Flash Cards from Ultimate Black Belt Test Member Jason Gould

See these cool cards in the video above; and get the art for them here (you get to print and laminate them yourself). They are, obviously, for young people (as you and I don't have ANYTHING else to learn and/or be reminded of, we're already grown ups!).
We have Ultimate Black Belt Test graduate Jason Gould to thank for them.
What this work represents is a part of an accepted "idea" that is a part of the UBBT "school." That is, that we (advanced martial arts teacher types) have some kind of (currently) unspoken obligation to make smart, relevant, and useful "things" to teach students --and then to share them with our peers....for the general betterment of the field of martial arts education.
I have a fantasy / wish that every instructor I / we influence through one of my / our programs takes on this concept and then passes it on to his or her students. Imagine having 100 sets of easy-to-use flashcards or videos or reports or what-have-you at your fingertips --to teach various self-defense related subjects (and to teach the next generation too).
Flash cards might be considered the most basic tool. From there we go to a teacher's manual? Or maybe a website for more info for teachers and students? From there videos? Curriculum components? Tutorials from experts on THE most effective ways to deal with the issues?
We must begin somewhere --and a simple set of instructions, easily made, inexpensive to produce, easy to distribute ---it's a good start. As far as promotion for martial arts schools ---why not make 50 sets and provide them to local teachers free of charge?
When you have finally become a HUGE resource, innovator, and problem solver for people in your community, you will save yourself countless hours of effort and all sorts of advertising dollars --as you will be known for something more than the VIP pass, the Two-for-One special, and yet another "Pizza Party."
Promote with education and community activism. The UBBT isn't a "program" -it's a new way of practicing the art of being a master teacher. Good work Jason --it's a small thing, these cards, but they represent a very sound and forward-thinking idea.
