First off, let's establish that 

you don't need the UBBT. 

If you don't recognize a certain value in this work, then spend your money going to college or traveling to train or on something you consider to be valuable. The UBBT is a giant waste of time, energy, and resources for anyone who does not recognize the nature of what we're up to --our intent and sense of mission. 

This is a radically different kind of training program for school owners, teachers, and serious martial arts students. What you pay for in this program is the work and help of Tom Callos --the team's coach and the designer of the program. Tom is a renowned consultant, veteran master instructor, and innovator in the martial arts world. 

The UBBT is a kind of martial arts "association" where members are required to do, to take action, to participate in extraordinary ways, to contribute, and to set an example to their students, to the international martial arts community, and to the world. The foundation of this program resides upon the idea that a black belt test is supposed to be something grander, something more important, and something more significant to the world than what we currently see as "the standard" in the martial arts industry. 

The UBBT and its members are living an experiment in martial arts / life education. Tom Callos will, most likely, never teach you a single physical martial arts "technique." He's capable of it, but this is not what the UBBT is about. The UBBT is about curriculum, about leadership, about being a martial artist in today's world, and about everything that takes place off of the mat and out of the ring.

Tom Callos' mission, now bolstered by the participation of more than 100 UBBT Alumni, is to leave a definitive trail of new methods, ideas, projects, and results for the martial arts world; both the world of today and tomorrow.

 The UBBT seeks to break new ground, to launch dozens, if not hundreds, of new programs that bring more authenticity to the martial arts, more value, and more relevance. This is a black belt test / master teacher training program that is not only about the individual; but about changing an entire industry's methods and objectives.
